BLACK AND HISPANIC CAUCUS

NEW HAVEN – A gun buyback program proposed by the members of the New Haven Board of Police Commissioners and the New Haven Police Department will be the topic of discussion at a meeting of the Black and Hispanic Caucus of the Board of Aldermen. The meeting will be held on Thursday, 7 September, at 6:30 p.m. at New Haven Police Department headquarters, One Union Avenue.

Under the proposal, New Haven residents may turn in operational guns with no questions asked. In return, a resident may receive an incentive, such as a gift card. The program will run for two weeks and will be funded by corporate, business and community donations.
